Sonata - Example 5: Movement III, Measures 44-58

Stylistic Influences: Quite a few inflections are added to this section: a "flare" into m. 44, a "drop" into m. 52, and a "drop" off of beat 1 of m. 58. These add to the blues feel of this particular section.

Harmonic Influence: Unlike other sections of the movement where the chromatic movement of the harmony and melody toys with the idea of jazz harmonies, each of the statements in this section is answered by the F blues scale. Mm. 44-49 are answered by the melody running from mm. 49-52 and likewise mm. 53-55 are answered by mm. 56-58.
